Paper Vineyard-January 10 2011

Hey there everyone!!  It's Paper Vineyard time!! Paper Vineyard is a scrapbook store located in Chandler, Arizona and the design team will feature cards, layouts and other paper-crafted projects showcasing fabulous products that you can find in their store!

This week we were challenged to create a project any Cosmo Cricket paper and embellies that follow the theme, "Take Me Out of this World." Immediately my mind went to that show in the 90's called, "Out of this World," where Maureen Flannigan played a teenager whose father was an alien, and she had the power to freeze time. Loved that show! But anyways, back to the challenge. I didn't want to just make stars and planets. I wanted to think outside the box so bear with me as I explain these two cards.

For this design, I used a chipboard embellie of a globe and lady
to make a Congratulations card for a promotion. I love the Circa 1934 line
and the lady sitting on top of the globe fit perfectly for this challenge!

She's sitting ON THE WORLD-out of this world!

I even added a phone book page to illustrate
all the people that she beat on the promotion....haha, no competition here.

For my next card, were going to think outside the box, as I always tell my
students to.
The fun little geometric shapes are fussy-cut from paper, reminiscent
of little planets, orbular spheres or star bursts! I liked the idea of using
sphere-ish shapes in this design.

The spheres are also repeated in the polka dots. It kind of reminds me of a galaxy.

You can visit Paper Vineyard's blog to see my designs along with the other amazing team member's fantastic creations. Remember, Paper Vineyard sells fabulous Cosmo Cricket paper, and Circa 1934 is one of their newest lines!
