Happy Saturday everyone! After a long two weeks of sickness, I finally got to the doctor and found out....I have an ear infection! Ha! Children get ear infections, doggies get them after baths, and I had one! So, after two days on antibiotics, I can now hear out of my infected ear, but I have been coughing up a storm. My students sit there staring at me asking if I'll live, precious little things they're so happy I came back to school. But, enough about me...at least I was able to muster up enough strength to make a card for this week's challenge.

This week's shop is Paula Art, which sells home decor made from recycled found objects, a type of art created by Marcel DuChamp during the 20th century. Being a lover of all things modern art, I found this shop particularly interesting. Here's the piece that I was inspired (loosely) by.

I loved the rustic peeled paint look.
Sometimes beauty can be found in forgotten items

So, this shop got me thinking about items in my craft supply that may have been forgotten (but, not unloved) and I pulled out some pretty trims and trinkets.

Some fun tags, a keyhole, pin and resin
flower embellishments

Our shop is generously giving one winner this lovely gobi pipe that can be used as a candle holder! Oohhlala!

Our sponsor this week is Sherry K Designs which sells gorgeous coordinating paper packs! They are giving our second winner a prize package including three of their best selling paper packs!

So, now it's your turn to play along. Make sure to visit the design team's blogs to see their BEAUTIFUL projects  so that you  can get inspired to create a fabulous project of your own! Make sure to post your design to the Etsy Inspired Challenge Blog by Friday, June 3rd at noon!

Some of my Favorite Techniques

So, this week we were asked to share some of our favorite techniques when were creating layouts at the Best Creation blog.
Dearness me, where do I start? I don't have a favorite really since each project sort of demands it's own technique[s]. But, I chose a few to use on this project. For a supply list and directions click on over to the blog.

-Using tape as a rustic accent.
-Trimming stickers in half to draw interest
to journaling or an element of interest. (i.e. "searching")

-Drawing interest to negative punch outs
with stitched punch outs

-Creating depth by adding foam tape to stickers

How I spent Easter Morning as a kidlet

Hey Everyone!! Happy Monday to you!! Best Creation wanted to know how we spent Easter with our family. Since I don't have any kiddos of my own, and my hubby was stuck in DC over Easter I made a page sharing what my mom did for us kids when we were little.
Every Easter morning, we'd wake up and run downstairs into the kitchen eager to find the first clue! The clues would eventually lead us to our easter baskets filled with delicious, pastel and buttercream eggs, Cadbury eggs, little chocolate eggs with dinosaurs inside, eggs with Spring scenes and little toy treasures. My brother and I would race to each new location to find a new when we figured out where to go from the last! Here's the layout I created showcasing "The Hunt"
