Best Creations Mini Blog Hop!

Hey there everyone! Today Best Creation is having a blog hop and I am so happy that you can join us. In these tough economic times a girl has to get creative in order to make her product last longer, so you're going to like this blog hop. We have all created a mini album from ONE piece of paper!!! Super awesome, right? I created my album from one piece of 12" x 12" paper, used ribbons and fibers that I had on hand and only two other pieces of 12" x 12" paper for embellishments. This mini book is for a young athlete to collect and store his baseball mementos in.

Here is the cover of the mini album. This paper was perfect for
layering and making my own little embellishments.

Close up detail of some of the embellies.

Simple to make! Three pages in an hour and a half. Some of my
cards take longer than that!

The pockets that hold ticket stubs, stickers, photos and more are little home
plates!

Close up detail of the home plate pockets with that yummy
patterned paper.

The second set of pages leaves room for pictures to be added
and also has a home plate pocket.

Close up detail of the last page--I thought the glittery baseballs were
so cute!

Inspired to make your own yet? Well, Julie Walton posted a great little tutorial on how to do this that she learned from Teresa at Winter CHA. Here are some step-by-step directions that Julie Walton created to show you how to make an adorable mini album for yourself using Best Creation paper and embellies.

1. Cut one 12" x 12" piece of paper into three equal parts which will be 4" x 12" each.

2. Fold all three pieces in half, one with the pattern that you want to be on the outside and the other two with the pattern that you are using on the inside.

Place them together like so

3. Adhere pages together making sure to "kiss" the paper together with a strong adhesive.
Then decorate and alter the pages any way you like!

So glad that you stopped by. Your next stop is the lovely and talented, Sarah. Have fun!

Paper Vineyard Projects

OMG!!! I have some Paper Vineyard projects to share with you that I had totally forgotten to post here! Paper Vineyard is a scrapbooking store in Chandler, Arizona. All the products featured in these projects can be found at the store!

First up is a wrap for a Dish towel set using paper from the Savor
line from Little Yellow Bicycle
The doily edger die  is from PTI and frames the patterned paper
from the Savor collection. The collection also comes with cut outs which
is where the oven mitt came from. I added a bow and some buttons to finish it off.

Next up are a few cards that I made.
This card has a background made from blending pigment inks on
kraft cardstock with foam. The stickers are from Glitz Designs and the patterned
paper can be found at Paper Vineyard. The clear ribbon is from
Tim Holtz. All you need to add is some sparkle trim and rhinestones

All the product on this card is from an ATC Kit. All sorts of goodies
can be found such as a fabric flower, coordinating patterned paper, jewels, ric rac and
more. Add some letters from American Crafts and Jenni Bowlin to create a sentiment.

And finally an altered project.
Patterned paper from "Once Upon a Springtime" collection by Graphic 45
I love the Beatrix Potter illustrations

Yummy dimension

I am thinking of teaching a class on how to make this book at my LSS.

Etsy Inspired #128--3.5.11

Good morning everyone! This was an eventful day. I was waiting to receive a happy email from Paper Crafts Go-to-Sketches, and I received one, but it wasn't what I expected. Six of my 44 sketches submitted were chosen for this new Go-To-Sketches for Card makers. So, I made cards for my sketches and guess what?------NONE were selected!!! HA!! Two of my cards were accepted, BUT for OTHER sketches! It just goes to show, you never know what the editors are looking at. I can't wait to see what will be in this fabulous issue, and what people did with my sketches. Oh well, I'll just submit them to another submission call!

Anyways, today's shop is Desired Things which is a multimedia jewelry shop made from items like beads, polymer clay, resin, paper, fabrics, paints and wire. There's a lot of intricate little goodies in every pieces so you really need to take a CLOSER look! They'll be giving one of our winner's a voucher worth approximately $16 USD. Below is a close up of the piece that influenced and  inspired my card.

I really like the teal and purple colors and the texture of
the beads from this portion of the painting

Here's my card
I used beads with some new Prima
and pulled some purple and teal into the doily, a bead and the cardstock

This week's sponsor is Sparkle Creations  which makes fun rubber stamps. They'll be rewarding our second winner with this stamp from the "Josh" line.
