Paper Crafts Magazine presents 75 Creative Card Challenges

Hey there friends! So happy to be sharing with you Paper Crafts Magazine's newest special issue, 75 Creative Card Challenges. Seriously, this is a MUST HAVE guide for your paper-crafting library! The challenges were so much fun to play with, and the projects will dazzle and amaze you! I am loving this issue so super duper much!

We were challenged to create a card based on song lyrics....that was a hard for me because I didn't know what type of song to choose, and I didn't want to select a song that had cheesy lyrics or was cliche. One afternoon while I was driving home from work, I heard Ellie Goulding's current hit, "Anything can Happen" and I instantly knew that was the song I wanted to base my card on. I love the ethereal feel of this song, and while I was listening to the lyrics, the design of card just happened to appear in my mind on a highway onramp, of all places!

Since lyrics were the focus of the challenge, I wanted the sentiment to take center stage. I die cut the letters with my Silhouette, and then backed the letter's openings with patterned paper, popping some up with foam tape.

I totally love the twinkly light look of this paper from October Afternoon's Midway line. I wanted the background to look twinkly and muted, so I covered the card with vellum, and added a few sequins to give some extra sparkly flair. This card would make a great encouragement card to give to someone waiting for good news. I don't know why, but sequins, twinkle lights and sparkle always make me feel better.

There's one more stop on the hop. But, before you go, leave a comment on this post by Tuesday, January 15th midnight for your chance to win this special issue. I'll select a winner and post that winner on Wednesday, January 16th, so don't forget to stop by and check to see if it's you. To increase your chances leave a comment on the Paper Crafts blog too. Your last stop on this fun hop is my very talented and sweet friend, Vera Yates
